Medical coding can be broadly divided into following specialties and sub-specialties.
1. Physician Coding:
Physician coding involved coding for physicians and physician groups. This coding is relatively simple and easy compared with hospital coding. Relative Value Units (RUVs) are used to bill the patient, while the coding part is done by ICD and CPT codes.
2. Hospital Coding:
Hospital coding involves coding for ED, Surgical Centers, Acute care, long term care, etc. Each of these sub specialties have their own guidelines for coding and reimbursement.
Coding can again be divided into outpatient and inpatient coding. Outpatient coding is where the patient is treated and discharged within the same day i.e. within 24 hours where is inpatient coding is one where the patient stays in the hospital for more then 24 hours.
I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
ReplyDeleteliver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
